The rubber ball and ratcheting socket lock the rod in place solidly, even when I'm bouncing through choppy saltwater chop. No slipping or rattling, which is a huge relief compared to my old holders. Fits my boat's existing mounting holes perfectly.

The ball-and-socket joint on this rod holder lets me adjust the angle on the fly without any tools. It’s held up perfectly through a few rough days of saltwater trolling, and the round base was a breeze to mount on my deck.

The ratcheting mechanism locks my rod in securely even when trolling through choppy waves, and the round base with the AMPS pattern bolted right onto my existing mount. Only wish the rubber ball had a bit more give for thicker rod butts. Works great for saltwater duty so far.
