I was a bit worried about the ratchet arm holding up in rough water, but it grips my rod securely and lets me adjust the angle on the fly. Exactly what I needed for my kayak setup.

The track ball base slides effortlessly into my existing rail system, and that single open socket lets me adjust the rod angle without messing with multiple knobs. It holds my heavy saltwater rod securely even when I’m bouncing over choppy waves.

I’ve been running this with a 1.5" track ball base and the ratchet arm holds my rod steady even when I’m bouncing through chop. The single open socket makes it quick to pop the rod in and out, which I wasn’t expecting for the price. Really solid setup for anyone with a track system already in place.
