I was worried the tilt mechanism would be flimsy, but that ratchet spline post is rock solid even with my heavy saltwater rod. The deck track base slides on and locks perfectly, making it easy to swap gear between trips.

The ratchet spline post locks in place with a solid click, no wobble even when I set the rod down hard. Deck track base slides on smooth and the tilt range forward and back covers everything from trolling to fighting a fish.

The deck mount feels rock-solid under my feet, and that 6" ratchet spline gives me just enough tilt to fight a fish without losing the rod. Took seconds to attach, and it hasn’t budged all weekend.
