I was a little worried about the stability with two 18-inch PVC pipes, but once I locked it onto my boat's spline post base, it held my camera rock-solid even in choppy water. The whole kit clicks together securely and gives just the right height for overhead shots.

Finally got this set up on my kayak and the added height from the two 18" pipes makes a huge difference for getting over the gunwale. The spline post locks in tight with zero wobble, even when I'm paddling through choppy water. Exactly what I needed for steady POV shots.

The PVC pipes feel sturdy enough for saltwater use, and the spline base clicked into my existing mount without any fuss. Took a bit of fiddling to get the camera angle right with the 36-inch reach, but once it was set, the footage stayed steady through some choppy conditions.
