Installed this onto a RAM mount plate I already had, and the stainless steel stud feels solid and should hold up well in the truck bed. The ball locks into the socket with a satisfying click and no wobble whatsoever.

I was a little worried the stainless stud would feel cheap, but it’s solid and the 1/4"-20 threading screwed on perfectly smooth. The rubber ball grips my mount without any wobble, even on bumpy roads.

The 1.75-inch stud was long enough to securely fasten my phone mount to a thick dashboard bracket, and the rubber ball grips tightly without slipping. Installation took less than a minute with just a hex key.
