The rubber ball is surprisingly sturdy yet gives just enough flexibility to absorb bumps. Installed it on my boat’s console and those 1.912" center-to-center holes lined up perfectly with my existing mount pattern.

The diamond base lined up perfectly with the pre-drilled holes on my dash, and that 1" rubber ball grips the arm tight enough that nothing shifts on rough roads. Took me maybe five minutes to bolt everything down. Solid little piece of hardware for the money.

The diamond base’s two mounting holes lined up perfectly with the standard pattern on my existing hardware, so installation took all of five minutes. The rubber ball feels dense and grippy, though the right-angle orientation took a bit of getting used to for my setup.
